Unlyst is the world’s first marketplace for off-market homes. We specialize in homes that aren’t yet on the market or that may never be on the market. The way it works is very simple. Homeowners start by submitting their home for free to the Unlyst marketplace. In return, they receive two things: (1) a unique crowd-sourced market value for their home and (2) the opportunity to receive unsolicited offers from potential buyers. All inbound requests are thoroughly reviewed and qualified by the Unlyst team before they are sent to each homeowner. And if at any time a homeowner no longer wants to receive offers, this functionality can be easily turned off.
Unlyst uses the wisdom of crowds to come up with real-time home valuations. Instead of just relying on fancy algorithms, we allow market participants to enter what they think each home is worth. Once we have enough participants, we then use these inputs to help inform something that we call an Unlysted value. Think of this as the home's market price at a given point in time.
Submitting a home is simple and free. Once you complete this initial form, an Unlyst customer care specialist will get in touch to walk you through the rest of the process. If you’d like us to take professional photos of your home, we’re also happy to do that for you as well. Please note that Unlyst is currently only available in the City of Toronto. We think Unlysted values have the potential to be more accurate than algorithms alone because of the fact that real humans are looking at each home and making judgment calls. We also think that it doesn’t take long for someone to become familiar with a particular housing market and that there’s enough diversity to smooth out any biases. A marketplace is, after all, just a collection of market participants looking to buy and sell and working to figure out price and value. Of course, our Unlysted values are also something that we are working to continually refine.
We would love to hear from you and learn more about why you think your Unlysted value is not accurate. We want to be better. And in a worst-case scenario, we would be happy to remove your home from the Unlyst marketplace. We strive to treat each and every home on Unlyst as if it were our own.
